NYC ‘Burlesque Restaurant’ Mister French Opens With David Burke Food on Bowery - Eater NY

Chef David Burke is getting into nightlife

A restaurant with burlesque shows and magicians will open with food that celebrity chef David Burke helped create as a consultant. Mister French — opening this week at 218 Bowery in Nolita — splits up the old Rebelle space into three different areas: a main dining room, bar area, and “atrium” with an open kitchen and eight-seat chef’s counter. The dining room is where burlesque takes place three nights a week, with dancers and magicians.

Burke — famous for his clothesline bacon — consulted on the French food that executive chef Guillaume Thivet will execute. To start, there are cheese puffs, a fancy take on poutine with lemon parsley crab bearnaise, and peppered bacon, while mains include skate meuniere and steak frites. Mister French is also slated to open in Los Angeles.
