30 shots fired into Chinese takeout restaurant, injuring 2 in Philadelphia - PennLive

A man and a teenager were injured when at least two people opened fire on a Chinese takeout restaurant in Philadelphia Christmas night.

A man in his 30s or 40s was critically injured, and a 16-year-old boy, likely a bystander, was hit in the leg after authorities say the shooters fired at least 30 shots into the Jade Garden on the 1500 block of West Lehigh Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, Action News 6 ABC is reporting.

Many of the rounds struck near where employees were working.

Officers in the area heard the shots and found the man on the floor of the restaurant, reports indicate. He was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses say the man, a regular customer, was picking up food when the shooting occurred. The 16 year old told police he was outside of the restaurant when he was shot and was able to run home, according to reports.

Police are investigating.
