Woman dies at Beaumont restaurant drive-through when vehicle she left pins her against wall - Press-Enterprise

A woman died Saturday from her injuries at a Beaumont restaurant drive-through when she got out of her vehicle, failed to put it in park, and was run over, then pinned between it and the wall of the business, police said.

Beaumont police were called to the restaurant in the 1400 block of the E. 2nd Street Marketplace at 1:44 p.m. Saturday, a news release from the department said.

Officers found the unidentified woman caught between her vehicle and the wall of the business. Police and firefighters from Cal Fire/Riverside County freed her and treated her at the scene. She was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead from her injuries.

Police said their early investigation showed the woman tried to get out of her car after entering the restaurant drive-through. The vehicle, which was not further described in the news release, was not put in park and moved forward, running over then pinning the woman.

The woman will not be identified until relatives are notified, police said.
