Restaurant Ratings Most Violations: December 5 to December 15 - WFLA

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) - The following Tampa Bay area restaurants received the most violations during inspections conducted December 5 to December 15.

The C House at 6005 N. Florida Ave. in Tampa, 29 violations

  • Potentially hazardous cold food was held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit. This included: sausage 55°F, salsa 52°F, cream 52°F, lobster 51°F and raw pork 48°F.
  • An insect control device was installed over the bakery preparation area.
  • Clam, mussel and oyster tags were not marked with last date served.

Grillsmith at 14303 N. Dale Mabry Hwy in Tampa, 25 violations

  • Potentially hazardous cold food was held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit. This included: bean sprouts 56°F, cut tomatoes 60°F, raw chicken 56°F, pork 51°F and cream corn 52°F.
  • Roach activity was present as evidenced by 2 live roaches found.
  • Grease was accumulated on kitchen floor and under cooking equipment. The walls were soiled with accumulated black debris in the dishwashing area.

Tasia Restaurant at 4648 Park Blvd in Pinellas Park, 37 violations

  • An employee with a wound on their hand was working with food and handling clean equipment without two layers of impermeable protection on the wound.
  • Four potatoes were found with mold-like growth. A Stop Sale was issued.
  • Potentially hazardous cold food was held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit. This included: sprouts 50°F, rehydrated noodles 46°F, raw shell eggs 76°F and sliced tomatoes 70°F.

My Nanny's Restaurant at 5323 Commercial Way in Spring Hill, 25 violations

  • Four cucumbers with mold-like growth were found in the refrigerator storage area. A Stop Sale was issued.
  • A cook cracked eggs with right hand, then picked up a cup of gravy to serve to guest with the other hand without washing his hands.
  • The walls in the kitchen area were soiled with accumulated grease, food debris and dust.

Zigzag Scallop at 4417 Calienta Street in Hernando Beach, 33 violations

  • The dishwasher was scrubbing dirty pans and then touched clean pans without first washing hands or changing gloves.
  • Raw pork was stored over ready-to-eat cooked beef.
  • Vegetable chopper was soiled with old food debris.

Andros Greek Grill & Pan Pizza at 150 E Tarpon Ave in Tarpon Springs, 27 violations

  • Raw chicken was stored over ready-to-eat lemons and lettuce.
  • The ladies bathroom facility was not clean.
  • An accumulation of black-green mold-like substance was found in the interior of the ice machine. A Stop Sale was issued due to adulteration of the product.

Captain Jack's Waterfront Grille at 7430 49TH St. N. in Tarpon Springs, 24 violations

  • Raw or undercooked animal food was offered by the establishment but they have no written consumer advisory.
  • The walls were soiled with an accumulation black debris in the dishwashing area.
  • Employee personal items were stored in and above the food preparation area. This included jackets, short, sweatshirt and a back pack.

Tasty Pho at 7430 49TH St. N. in Pinellas Park, 25 violations

  • A Stop Sale was issued on potentially hazardous food due to temperature abuse. Cooked food was not cooled from 135 degrees Fahrenheit to 41 degrees Fahrenheit within 6 hours.
  • The cutting board has deep cut marks and is no longer cleanable.
  • Potentially hazardous frozen chicken was thawed in standing water.
