Cranston restaurant to celebrate opening with free pizza - Turn to 10

by JESSICA A. BOTELHO, NBC 10 NEWS

Free pizza?!

Yup, you read that correctly.

Blaze Fast Fire’d Pizza, which is based in California and describes itself as “the recognized world leader in fast artisanal pizza,” is set to open in Cranston's Chapel View Mall Thursday.

The next day, the restaurant is giving away free pizza.

Anyone who visits the new location Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and also follows the restaurant on Instagram, Snapchat, and Facebook, will receive a free build-your-own pizza, which is at least an $8 value.

“Our mission at Blaze is really simple -- we’re taking pizza back to its roots,” Jim Mizes, who is the president and CEO of Blaze Pizza, noted in a press release. “By making dough in-house, using carefully sourced ingredients, and cooking by fire, we’re giving guests a great way to enjoy artisanal pizza without the wait. It’s changing the way people think about and eat pizza.”

Matthew Giroux, who owns the Cranston franchise, shared similar sentiments. He said the restaurant will create 50 local jobs.

“We are excited to open a Blaze Pizza in the Cranston community and we are pleased to be a part of the wonderful and welcoming culture.”

The new location will feature a beautiful 2,800 square foot open kitchen restaurant with interior seating for 70. It is located in Chapel View Mall at 2 Chapel View Road.
