Marshawn Lynch’s Restaurant Rob Ben’s Opens in Emeryville - Eater SF

Oakland native and Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch is inviting the neighborhood in for food and drinks at his new Emeryville restaurant, Rob Ben’s Restaurant and Lounge, which opens today.

At 3627 San Pablo Avenue in Emeryville, Rob Ben’s occupies the former Scend’s restaurant space, a soul food favorite that Lynch purchased last year as its owners prepared for retirement. The restaurant’s new name is in honor of Robert Benjamin, Lynch’s best friend, who was shot and killed in Oakland in 2007.

Rob Ben’s serves a variety of comfort food and cocktails in a relaxed, carefree environment. But there’s one rule to note: Don’t be on your phone while you enjoy your wings, oysters, or peach cobbler. In a cheeky promotional video encouraging a “device free dinner,” Lynch pretends to eat customers’ food while they’re too distracted on their phones to notice.

Rob Ben’s has just released its menu, with options for burgers and sandwiches, salads, wings, and combos. One standout in that zone: “The BeastMode Platter,” a superhuman combo spread of 10 wings, 6 pieces of fish, 6 oysters, and 4 pork chops with 5 sides for $85. Other platters for mere mortals include the Auntie Dee, with 2 pieces of fish, 2 oysters, 2 prawns, and 2 wings for for $20.

The whole menu is below. Breakfast and brunch options are also on the way.
