In-N-Out burglary suspect barricades self in restaurant; police allegedly order burgers during standoff - Fox News

A standoff at the In-N-Out in Temple City, Calif., ended with a burglary suspect being apprehended — and a bunch of tasty burgers being ingested, at least according to one photographer.

Deputies reported to the scene on Monday morning after the man triggered an alarm at around 2:40 a.m., according to the L.A. County Sheriff’s office. After confirming this person didn’t have clearance to be inside the restaurant, they asked the man to leave.

The suspect refused, police say, leading law enforcement officers to secure and evacuate the surrounding area. Deputies also contacted the department’s “special enforcement team and our negotiators to respond and see if they could come and help him come out, and come to a peaceful resolution,” a deputy confirmed on Twitter.

The suspect remained inside the restaurant until approximately 2:15 p.m., KFSN-TV reported, when a canine named Deek, who is trained to work in confined spaces, found the suspect hiding in the roof. Police had earlier attempted to use larger canine units before Deek was called in, according to the station.

Police say the suspect was not armed at the time of his arrest, but did not release his identity.

Eater LA further reported that during the standoff, officers were seen ordering In-N-Out for lunch from another location, though the L.A. County Sheriff’s office did not confirm as much on Twitter.

They did, however, note that Deek was “resting and enjoying his double-double… animal style" following his service.
