Fifty-four. That's the number of restaurants offering deals during Restaurant Week. The 10th annual celebration of local food and dining runs Jan. 10 -20 and this year includes lunch, dinner and brunch at more than 50 restaurants in Greenville, and more than 70 if you include Spartanburg.
Traditionally, Restaurant Week has been a time to re-energize diners in a New Year and in a time that is traditionally slower for restaurants. The prix fixe menus range from $15 for two courses at lunch to $45 for three courses at dinner, with most falling in the three for $30 range. Some of the dishes will be familiar, while others will be specials created just for the event.

While I don't think you can go wrong with anything you order during Restaurant Week, these are some dishes that sound extra interesting to me. And an additional note, I only chose from restaurants that had their menus posted. Check out the Restaurant Week site for updated restaurant lists and menus.
-The duck breast with brandy cherry sauce at The Farehouse. I've only ever had snacks here, so am super intrigued about Chef Michael Marut's specials.
-The smoke lamb belly with crispy chickpeas and wood-fired leek BBQ at Restaurant 17. Chef Haydn Shaak is clearly out to prove that he is owning his new position.
-The vegetable plate at Husk. I know, I know, there is so much more here to eat, but it is the New Year, after all, and in the name of health (and love of vegetables) I want to eat more produce. Chef Jon Buck and his team always bring creativity and flavor.
Other news: HabiTap, a new restaurant, bar near Woodruff Road, will embrace fast-casual approach
-Everything at Ji-roz, but especially the rabbit stifado stew and the goat BBQ. And, I really appreciate that Ji-roz makes such an effort to offer vegetarian and vegan options.
-Bourbon ginger bison short ribs at Roost. Just sounds super interesting and tasty and different.
-Any of the desserts at Encore, but especially the Ode to Ferrero Rocher. Anything hazelnut chocolate mousse torte is a winner in my book.
