Spaghetti parm could be coming to Sheridan Drive.
Chef’s Restaurant is considering opening an Amherst location in the Sheridan Drive plaza home to Black & Blue Steak & Crab, according to Buffalo Business First.
Lease negotiations are ongoing, according to a Buffalo Business First report, which quotes Chef’s owner Lou Billittier Jr. saying that the original Chef’s in downtown Buffalo would remain open.
Reached by The News, Billittier said that he was talking about a hypothetical situation, not concrete plans. Beyond that, he had no comment.
Later in the day, the restaurant's Facebook page posted about a "possible" second location, inviting readers to follow for updates. "We look forward to sharing developments in the late spring and early summer of this year."
The story said the contemplated second location would be in the plaza at Sheridan Drive and International Drive, which is named Williamsville Place, although it is not in the village.
The original, at 291 Seneca St., was founded in 1923. Bought by former dishwasher Lou Billittier in the 1950s, it is now run by his son Lou and daughter Mary Beth.
One of the oldest restaurants in the city, known for its iconic spaghetti parm, it’s also one of the largest, seating about 325.
