Kindling Texas Kitchen, a new wood-fired rustic restaurant in Cibolo, has been forced to close after an incident involving smoke on its opening weekend.
A post on Kindling Texas Kitchen’s Facebook page dated Dec. 9 — the day after the restaurant officially opened — said: “Today we found out that it’s just too hot in the kitchen. After a small incident we have been shut down until further notice. We saw smoke in a wall and decided it was best for the safety of everyone to call fire department. We have some small fixes to make but will be back at it ASAP!”
The restaurant, started by veteran Austin chefs Gwyn and Justin Hammerson, is at 209 N. Main St. in Cibolo. Attempts to contact the restaurant Tuesday were unsuccessful.
