Restaurant Ratings Most Violations: November 26 to December 2 - WFLA

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) - The following Tampa Bay area restaurants received the most violations during inspections conducted November 26 to December 2.

The Brown Boxer Pub & Grille at 15000 Madeira Way in Madeira Beach, 24 violations

  • Potentially hazardous cold food was held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit. All of the items were 70°F. This included: corned beef 3 pounds, pulled pork 4 pounds, fish spread 4 pounds, coleslaw 1 pound, potato salad 2 pounds, cut greens 3 pounds, blue cheese 1 pound, feta cheese 1/2 pound and diced tomatoes 2 pounds.
  • Raw shrimp was stored over cooked chicken.
  • The bathroom facility was in disrepair. Handles were missing from some fixtures in both restrooms.

Courtside Grille at 110 Fountain Pkwy N. in St Petersburg, 25 violations

  • Tilapia, a nonexempt fish was offered raw or undercooked and has not undergone proper parasite destruction. The fish must be fully cooked or discarded.
  • Raw vegetables were not washed prior to preparation. This included lettuce, onions and mushrooms.
  • Raw animal food was stored over ready-to-eat food. This included: Sushi rolls over cucumbers, raw beef over milk and raw fish over blue cheese.

Steak N Shake #284 at 10555 Ulmerton Rd. in Largo, 26 violations

  • Potentially hazardous cold food was held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit. This included: cut sausage 49°F, sliced turkey 45°F, coleslaw 43°F and shredded cheese 49°F.
  • A buildup of food debris and soil residue was found on equipment door handles throughout the kitchen and on the exterior of the microwave.
  • The walls were soiled with an accumulation of grease and food debris throughout the kitchen and behind the dishwasher.

Acropolis Greek Taverna  at 1833 E. 7 Ave. in Tampa, 30 violations

  • Potentially hazardous cold food was held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit. This included: sliced tomatoes 47°F, chicken 47°F, rice 47°F and salmon 47°F.
  • Raw animal foods were not properly separated from each other in the holding unit. This included pineapple with raw fish and raw chicken on top of raw beef.
  • Two potatoes with a mold-like growth were found in the walk-in cooler. A Stop Sale was issued.

The Getaway at 13090 Gandy Blvd. in St. Petersburg, 31 violations

  • Dead roaches were found on the premises. Four were found on sticky trap on the cook line.
  • Potentially hazardous cold food was held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit. This included raw tuna 44°F and blue cheese 45°F.
  • Food was stored in ice used for drinks. A Stop Sale was issued.

Buffet City at 13235 Cortez Blvd. in Brooksville, 32 violations

  • Live, small flying insects were found in the food storage area. Ten live flies were found by a leaking soda box station in the dry storage area.
  • Potentially hazardous cold food was held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit. This included cut cabbage 56°F.
  • Raw beef was stored over ready-to-eat dumplings in the walk-in freezer.

Limalimon at 2104 West Busch Blvd. in Tampa, 31 violations

  • Nonexempt fish was offered raw or undercooked that has not undergone proper parasite destruction.
  • Potentially hazardous cold food was held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit. This included Lime potatoes 48°F, boiled potatoes 47°F, pasta 51°F and steak 49°F.
  • Raw chicken was stored over ready-to-eat vegetables in the walk in cooler.

Jessi's Family Restaurant at 8331 66 St N in Pinellas Park, 27 violations

  • Potentially hazardous cold food was held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit. This included: tuna 48°F, turkey 47°F, ham 47°F, cooked noodles 47°F, cheese 47°F and butter 70°f.
  • Raw shrimp was stored over ready-to-eat fries in the reach-in freezer.
  • Dead roaches were found on the premises, one in the kitchen, one by water heater and one dead by the stairs.
