Can you eat a 1 pound burger, cheese fries and milkshake in 20 minutes? - Tennessean

The cheeseburger - "The Jaw Dropper" - has one pound of meat and a bunch of jalapeno peppers on it. The milkshake is thick. The loaded queso fries seem never ending.

This is what one-year-old Hoss' Loaded Burgers restaurant in Nolensville is challenging it customers to eat - in 20 minutes.

Nashville's rep as a foodie town is growing quickly in large part because more celebrity and James Beard award-winning chefs are calling Music City home.

But food challenges? Cram a ton of food into your face before the clock runs out? Not so much.

Hoss' is only the second known restaurant in Middle Tennessee that's currently offering such a challenge. (The first is Big Shakes' Hot Chicken with its Death Row Challenge.)

Hoss' Jaw Dropper Challenge, well, challenges customers to eat the 3,500-calorie burger-shake-fries meal in 20 minutes. It's not for the faint of heart or light of wallet. The meal costs $25 whether you beat the clock or not.

"Winners" do, however, get a Hoss' hat and T-shirt. And those with the first, second and third best times in January get, respectively, $50, $25 and $10 gift cards.

The first Jaw Dropper Challenge taker, "The Moody Foody" blogger Josh Miller, set the bar Tuesday at 17 minutes 48 seconds.

Miller, 39, said he studied on best food challenge practices and credited sipping soda -- to induce burping -- for his success.

Afterward, Miller said he felt just fine.

"I am pretty full," he offered. "I can tell I had a meal."
