One more held in transporter Bobby Makan murder case - Times of India

NAGPUR: Crime branch sleuths, probing Bobby Makan abduction and murder case, on Thursday arrested yet another accused Paramjeet Singh Bhatia for his alleged role in the crime.
Bhatia, who had provided car in which Makan was kidnapped, was produced before a court on Friday and has been sent in police custody for three days.
Prior to Bhatia’s arrest, police had arrested Shailendra Singh Lohia alias Little Sardar, Gurmeet Singh Khokar, Manjeet Singh Gour alias Sittu and Maninder Singh Chandok alias Honey, who too were produced before the court for extension of their custody. Police said the five, now in custody, would be produced before the court again on Monday. Manjeet Singh Wade, allegedly one of the masterminds, is on the run.
Makan, a transporter, was abducted from his office shortly before midnight of April 25 over enmity with Wade and Little Sardar.
Wade was enraged with Makan suspecting that he had given a tip-off to the police about his office premises being used for gambling and cricket betting. Little Sardar had grudge against Makan as he suspected the deceased was instrumental in a bid on his life by a shooter around two years ago. The case remained undetected till date.
Police said Bhatia’s car was used by the assailants on the pretext of going for a trip to Nanded. Bhatia had later come to know about the murder in his car after which he had destroyed the car’s seat cover and also sent it for washing instead of alerting police.
Investigation officer API Pramod Ghonge said more arrests are likely.
