Fire at Verona Beach restaurant prompts road closure - Syracuse.com

VERONA BEACH, N.Y. -- A fire early Sunday morning damaged an Italian restaurant along Route 13 in Verona.

The fire caused Route 13 to be closed near Oneida Street. It reopened around 7 a.m.

The owners of the Spaghetti Factory announced on Facebook that the restaurant would be closed for the immediate future due to the fire, though it will reopen.

Damage was contained to a small portion of the kitchen, a storage area and a restroom, according to the Facebook post.

The restaurant owners thanked first responders, who turned out in large numbers to battle the blaze.

“We are truly grateful today, and will be reopening as soon as possible thanks to the efforts of what seemed to be 100 people this morning,” the owners wrote on Facebook.
