The owners of the popular Hungry's restaurants in Houston are expanding into the suburbs with their new brand, Local Table. Next stop, Cypress.
The casual neighborhood restaurant serving a menu of fresh, Mediterranean-inspired fare with Southwest influences, will open June 3 at 10535 Fry Road in the Lakeland Village Center, Cypress. It is the second Local Table concept after the first opened in Villagio Town Center in Katy in 2016.

"Bringing familiar inner-city vibes to the suburbs, Local Table offers a cool yet comfortable place where our neighbors can relax, unwind, dine, celebrate special events and enjoy quality time with family and friends over healthy meals," said Hungry's owner Askan Nowamooz. "As their lives have evolved and they start their own families, many have moved beyond Houston proper. Local Table brings what they know and love from town – without the drive – to their own neighborhood."
Shervin and Neima Sharifi, Local Table owners and nephew of Hungry's founder Fred Sharifi, are opening the restaurant with a focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients used in a globally inspired menu. Appetizers include hummus, spinach artichoke dip, quesadillas, baked goat cheese, and a variety of soups including Cuban black bean, Southwestern chicken tortilla or fire-roasted tomato basil. There are burgers, wraps, stuffed pitas and tacos. The menu moves on to salads and bowls, pizza, and entrees including gyro plates, kebabs with rice, meatloaf, lemon pasta, penne with fire-roasted tomato cream sauce, Mediterranean salmon, poblano chicken, Tuscan grilled chicken, honey ginger glazed salmon, and Southern chicken-fried chicken. Vegetarian, vegetarian and gluten-free options, too.

Local Table is located in Cypress' Bridgeland master-planned community. The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner daily, weekend brunch, and weekday happy hour from 3 to 6.
