Standout Restaurant Building Update
While a new office building is coming to the corner of South Lamar Boulevard and Oltorf Street, the stunning building that used to house upscale comfort food restaurant Olivia and then fast-casual fried chicken spot Lucy’s on the Fly will stay on the property. Called the Bouldin Creek, it is looking for a new restaurant to take over the space. Everything is set to open in 2020.

Austin’s Restaurant Staffing Problems
KUT dug into into the reasons why restaurants are finding it difficult to staff their establishments: high turnover (there are plenty of restaurant options out there), lower paychecks, commuting costs (people tend to live further away from hot dining neighborhoods because of higher rents), and lack of benefits.

Healthy Food Restaurant Opens
Austin got its second location of health-food restaurant chain True Food Kitchen up in the Domain last week, It’s found at 11410 Century Oaks Terrace. New to this restaurant is its to-go section, dubbed True to Go, with bowls, salads, soups, and drinks.

More San Antonio Brunch
Brunch chain Snooze is opening its second location down in San Antonio today, Wednesday, February 20, found in the Huebner neighborhood at 11255 Huebner Road. On deck are the usual pancakes, eggs, brunch cocktails, etc. Ahead of its opening, it raised funds for three local nonprofits (San Antonio Pets Alive, the Arc of San Antonio, and Keep San Antonio Beautiful) through brunches for the community.
