After a nearly seven-month renovation, San Antonio restaurant Hearthstone Bakery Cafe is set to close its location at The Forum and move that into the former home of an iconic Northeast Side property.
In September, Hearthstone bought the old Crumpets Restaurant & Bakery, which had been in business for 38 years in a wooded lot on Harry Wurzbach Road inside Loop 410. Tentative plans call for an opening the first week of April as a breakfast, lunch and sweet treat destination.
The move comes with a dramatic change to the business. This week, Hearthstone announced on social media that it will be closing its location inside the The Forum at Olympia Parkway March 20. All employees will be transferred to the new space.
The post read: “We sincerely thank everyone for their overwhelming support these past 1(2-plus) years and we look forward to seeing all of you that can visit our new restaurant. It will be the same great Hearthstone with the same staff you have come to know ... just a different spot.”
The Hearthstone location in Olmos Park (4212 McCullough Ave.) is unaffected by the move.
