12 Treasure Coast restaurants failed inspection so far this month - TCPalm

Are you planning a romantic Valentine's Day date? Check our restaurant inspection database first. Here are the eateries that have passed and failed inspection since Feb. 1.

The up-to-date database, searchable by restaurant name or county, lists the establishments that passed, failed or barely passed the inspections run by the Division of Hotels and Restaurants.  

Each inspection is a "snapshot" of conditions present at the time of the inspection and may not be representative of the overall, long-term conditions at the establishment.

Passed with zero violations

Failed inspection

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY

Country Ham N' Eggs, 478 US Hwy 1, Sebastian: Had 15 violations including encrusted food on the can opener, accumulation of black/green mold-like substance inside the ice bin, small flying insects, raw shelled eggs stored over ready-to-eat hot foods on the cook line, raw unwrapped ground beef and liver stored over potatoes in the reach in chest freezer, plumbing system in disrepair. Passed followup inspection.

Bamboo Court, 532 21 St, Vero Beach: Had 16 violations including flour and rice stored uncovered, food stored on the floor, dented/rusted cans, food-contact surfaces not sanitized after cleaning, no proof of required state approved employee training provided for any employees. Followup inspection required.

The Italian Kitchen, 480 Us Hwy 1, Sebastian: Had six violations including expired manicotti and potentially hazardous cold food held above 41 degrees Fahrenheit overnight. Passed followup inspection.

Siam Orchid Restaurant, 762 21 St, Vero Beach: Had 20 violations including cardboard used to line food-contact shelves, soiled floor in freezer storage, grease accumulated on floor and under equipment, unrefrigerated krab rangoon, dish machine not sanitizing properly, black/green mold on ice bin near sushi bar area. Followup inspection required.

MARTIN COUNTY

Thai Bistro, 5042 SE Federal Hwy, Stuart: Had eight violations including no soap provided at handwash sink, no probe thermometer available to measure food temperatures, black/green mold-like substance in the ice bin and sewage water backing up through floor drains. Passed followup inspection.

Wendys Old Fashioned Hamburgers, 7700 SW Lost River Rd, Stuart: Had five violations including plumbing system in disrepair and no sanitizer available in the restaurant. Passed followup inspection.

McDonald's #31297, 5960 SE Federal Hwy, Stuart: Had four violations including employee wearing jewelry while preparing food and several potentially hazardous cold foods held at above 41 degrees Fahrenheit. Passed followup inspection.

Dunkin Donuts/Baskin Robbins, 6001 SE Federal Hwy, Stuart: Had 15 violations, including no proof of required state approved employee training provided for any employees, interior of reach-in cooler soiled with food residue, handwashing sink used as a dump sink, potentially hazardous cold foods held at above 41 degrees Fahrenheit, ice buildup in walk-in freezer. Passed followup inspection.

ST. LUCIE COUNTY

China Star Restaurant, 5485 Nw St James Drive, Port St Lucie: Had 26 violations including cardboard used to line food contact shelves, employee wearing jewelry while preparing food, uncovered flour stored by mop sink, uncovered food stored in walk-in cooler, bowl of raw chicken stored on top of bucket of onions, handwash sink blocked by jugs of soy sauce and oil, hot water turned off at handwash sink. Followup inspection required.

Lola's Seafood, 962 SW St. Lucie West Blvd, Port St Lucie: Had six violations including clam/mussel/oyster tags not marked with last date served, clam/mussel/oyster tags not maintained in chronological order according to the last date they were served in the establishment and dishwashing machine not sanitizing properly. Passed followup inspection with two violations. Met inspection requirements in followup inspection.

Lenzi's Diner, 901 Avenue D, Fort Pierce: Had 16 violations including can opener blade not kept sharp, ripped/worn tin foil used as food-contact shelf cover, shelf under prep table soiled with rust, vegetable oil stored on the floor, stained/soiled cutting boards, manager lacking proof of food manager certification, no paper towels at handwash sink. Followup inspection required.

Casa Azteca Mexican Restaurant, 101 N 2 St, Fort Pierce: Had 27 violations including can opener blade not kept sharp, food debris on exterior of microwave, interior of microwave soiled with encrusted food debris, employee failed to wash hands before preparing food, accumulation of black/green mold-like substance in ice bin, cutting boards stained/soiled. Followup inspection required.
