CAMPBELL, Calif. (KGO) --
Police officers are in a standoff with a man inside a Denny's restaurant in Campbell.Police say it started when a man inside the restaurant on S. Bascom Ave. went out to the parking lot to confront another man. The suspect threw a cup of coffee at the other man, pointed a gun at him and then went back inside Denny's and sat down at a booth. The alleged victim then drove off and called police.
Police called inside the restaurant and told employees to leave with any customers. About six people left at the time.
The only person remaining inside the Denny's is the suspect, according to police
Campbell Police and four other law enforcement agencies have the restaurant surrounded. They have been calling into the restaurant to try communicate with the man, but he is not answering the phone.
Officers are also using a loudspeaker from the street asking the man to come out with his hands up.
Campbell Police say this started when a man inside Denny’s confronted another man in parking lot, threw a cup of coffee at him and pointed a gun. The suspect then went back inside and sat down at a booth.
