On July 10 the owners announced the FireHouse had officially closed.

Days after it abruptly closed, the restaurant at 606 N. Second St. in Harrisburg was listed for sale for $1.2 million by Landmark Commercial Realty. The sale includes the business and three-story building as well as liquor license, furnishings, décor and equipment.

“This well-recognized establishment has been providing unforgettable dining and entertaining experience in historical setting for many years in Harrisburg, Pa.,” reads the listing.

Many in the community were shocked to hear the news. The Firehouse had operated for more than 20 years and was one of the first establishments to spark development along North Second Street, eventually coined Restaurant Row.

Someone with ambitious plans might want to buy the former Walnut Grove Smorgasbord at 300 N. Mountain Road in Lower Paxton Township. For $699,000 you’ll be the owner of a 240-seat restaurant. It opened in October 2016 at the old Country Oven Restaurant and closed in late 2017. It shares a parking lot with a Ramada by Wyndham hotel. The building, which is 8,000 square-feet, is perfect for corporate gatherings and family events and a buyer could subdivide the property, according to the listing.

The more than 3,000 square-foot restaurant sits on two acres and is listed for sale by NAI CIR in Lemoyne for $1.575 million. The sale includes the liquor license.

Nelsen and her husband, Sean, are looking to the future. The couple are preparing for the day they will have to care for their daughter, Megan, 16, who has a severe form of autism. Megan attends school, but will transition to adult care when she turns 21, Nelsen said.

The family plans to relocate to Virginia where their two grown sons live. In the meantime the restaurant at 4745 N. Front St. remains open for business.

For a cool $150,000 you could own a fully functioning yogurt business. The West Shore froyo shop at 5001 Carlisle Pike in Hampden Township sits at a busy corner near Gilligan’s Bar & Grill, Rite Aid and CVS. It opened in 2012 and is locally owned and operated with about two dozen rotating yogurt flavors and even more topping choices as well as coffee/tea and froyo drinks.
