Former IHOP in East Dallas will become family-friendly restaurant Hudson House - The Dallas Morning News

The restaurateur behind Hudson House Restaurant & Raw Bar in the Park Cities is expanding the business into the East Dallas/Lakewood area.

Hudson House is expected to open at Mockingbird Lane and Abrams Road — in the former IHOP — in January 2020.

It'll be the third Hudson House, after the original on Lovers Lane in Dallas and a second on Belt Line Road in Addison. CEO Hunter Pond said there was "no question" that Lakewood was his next move.

Every day from 3 to 6 p.m. martinis are half price at Hudson House. The deal extends to half-price cheeseburgers and half-price East Coast oysters.

The restaurant feels like a seafood joint (and it does have a raw bar, catches of the day and a lobster roll) but it's also known for its cheeseburger and kid-friendly menu options. The idea is to sell dishes that are popular in the Northeast, Pond said in 2017, before the first restaurant opened.

Pond founded East Hampton Sandwich Co. while in his twenties. Alongside expanding Hudson House in D-FW, he's also opening a restaurant called Drake's Steakhouse soon on Lovers Lane in Dallas.

Hudson House will be at 4040 Abrams Road, Dallas.
