KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - Sozo American Cuisine was heavily damaged by flooding back in July. It's been a long, stressful road to recovery, but the restaurant is set to reopen Friday, Oct. 25. Only it won't be Sozo.

Kearney restaurant damaged by flooding set to open Friday with new name, new menu
Renaming the restaurant "Joy's Table" after one of the owner's mothers, Joy's will be authentic Italian meals with an entirely different vibe.
The owners and staff of Joy's completely renovated the kitchen and interior of the restaurant. A process which has taught everyone a few things.
"Believing that things happen for a reason. Even though the flood was something that was extremely devastating for us...it's something that has cost the family a lot of money to put back together," Liam Mendoza. operations manager said. "I think it's worth it. It's something that I think without the flood maybe we couldn't have done or seen all these big, big changes at Joy's."
The restaurant will have a bar space entirely separate from the dining room, there will be large rooms for hosting receptions, parties, or business meetings and there will be more intimate spaces ideally for dates.
Joy's will remain in its same location, attached to the Holiday Inn on 110 South 2nd Ave.
