Here's the breakdown for recent inspections in Lee County.

The Sandbar and Grille accrues 29 violations

The Sandbar and Grille, 7205 Estero Blvd., Fort Myers Beach, accrued 29 violations during a July 3 inspection. Violations included an accumulation of dead insects in a device at the end of the pizza-prep station, a buildup of a "gray-like substance" inside the ice machine, food not stored at least six inches from the floor and encrusted material on kitchen utensils. Here's the good news, though: Despite a large number of violations, every violation was basic or intermediate. The restaurant corrected its violations on-site and met standards the same day it was inspected.

More violations

Among the other Lee County restaurants accruing the most violations in recent weeks were Perkins, 20320 Grande Oak Shoppes Blvd., Estero, with 21 violations; Liki Tiki BBQ, 1821 Estero Blvd., Fort Myers Beach, with 19 violations; Munch Box Plus, 6101 Estero Blvd., Fort Myers Beach, with 19 violations; Heritage Palms Country Club, 10420 Washington Palm Way, Fort Myers, with 19 violations; El Pilon Latin, 4650 S. Perkins, Liki Tiki BBQ, Munch Box Plus, El Pilon Latin and Cantina Captiva have not had followup inspections yet. Heritage Palms Country Club met standards during a followup inspection July 5. Sumaq Peruvian Bar & Grill was inspected again July 11. Time was extended on four basic and intermediate violations and a followup inspection will be required. Fowler Street Grill met standards during a followup inspection July 11.
